The all-rounder Karim Janat might play an ODI for the first time in more than six years. He was named to Afghanistan’s Asia Cup team.
Najibullah Zadran, who missed the Pakistan ODI series because of a knee injury, was also one of the 17 people on the team.
Sharafuddin Ashraf, an all-rounder who bowls spin with his left arm and last played for Afghanistan in August 2022, also returned.
Janat played his only One-Day International (ODI) in February 2017 against Zimbabwe. Since then, he has not played in this type of match.

He has, however, been a regular member of the T20I team, and in the first T20I against Bangladesh in July, he scored a hat-trick. Janat also played his first Test match this year.
Wafadar Momand, Azmatullah Omarzai, Fareed Ahmad, and Shahidullah didn’t make it to the Asia Cup after playing in the three ODIs against Pakistan.
Omarzai missed the third ODI against Pakistan because of a side strain. Gulbadin Naib took his place in the team, and Shahidullah took Najibullah’s place. The third ODI was played by Fareed, who was part of the visiting backups.
Hashmatullah Shahidi will be in charge of the team. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran, the usual suspects, will be at the top of the order.
Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Sharafuddin, and Noor Ahmad all have a lot of ways to move the ball.
Noor didn’t play in any of the ODIs against Pakistan, but he is one of the best young players in the country and has made a name for himself in the franchise circuit, which is a group of teams that compete against each other.
