Welcoming the appointment of MS Dhoni as Virat Kohliled Team India’s mentor, first hitter KL Rahul said the whole team was delighted to have the former captain on board for ICC World T20. After leading the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to their historic fourth 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL) title, legendary cricketer Dhoni joined the Indian national camp as the team’s mentor ahead of the ICC World T20.



 A host of players and management will remain engaged in collecting the spirits of former skipper Dhoni during the T20 World Cup. While champion Hardik Pandya regards Dhoni as his life coach, teammate and trailblazer Rahul said having the CSK icon in the Indian dressing room gives the team a sense of calm. 



During a Clubhouse session hosted by Red Bull on Tuesday, Rahul revealed that none of the Indian players expected Dhoni to take time for his career after the 2021 IPL. “None of us are sure that the IPL 2021 final was his last game. I don’t think I would like to see MS Dhoni play for many more years if he could. Yes it was great to see how CSK played in the tournament and they most deserved to win it. Of course, MS Dhoni again with the team, it’s fantastic because we played under him and considered him a mentor even when he was our captain The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the All-Star Asian Giants squad for the 2021 World Cup. India’s most successful captain in white ball cricket, mentor Dhoni shares an extraordinary bond with skipper Kohli, vice-captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Ravi Shastri on the national pitch.



 “We loved having him in the locker room when he was captain, we really liked the quiet. We all admired him for helping us, having him here is great. It gives us a sense of calm, I enjoyed spending time with him in the two or three days and it was a lot of fun. I can’t wait to get his brains out on cricket, the captain and all cricket related, “he added Rahul played a winning shot for the Indian team in the World Cup warm-up match against England on Monday.
